Birmingham City University is based in the Birmingham region of England. With roots reaching back to 1843, the Birmingham College of Art was classified as a polytechnic in 1971 and was granted university status in 1992. Birmingham City University is one of England’s most prestigious institutions, with almost 24,000 students. Its four faculties are responsible for various specializations and courses (undergraduate, postgraduate taught and research, foundation, short-term and part-time). The institution also offers distance learning to people who are unable to attend one of its campuses. It accepts students from all over the world and provides them with scholarships and bursaries. Furthermore, the university’s careers and job prospects program assists overseas students in locating holiday and part-time employment. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

For undergraduate courses:
Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Standard XII) – a minimum average of 60% depending on the exam board, however, some courses may require a higher grade.
Faculty of Art, Design, and Media:
-Most undergraduate courses in the Art and Design schools require a good portfolio of artwork.
-Requires the 12th Standard average of 60% overall. Some courses require Maths with a minimum of 65% from Standard 10 on the Central Board or the CICSE Board, otherwise, students require 60% from Standard 12.
Faculty of Business, Law, and Social Sciences (BLSS):
-Requires the 12th Standard average of 60% with a minimum of 60% in Maths. We also accept Maths at Standard 10 with 65% from Central Board and CICSE Board.
Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment (CEBE):
-Mathematics is required at the 10th Standard minimum of 65% from Central Board and CICSE Board.
-BEng Telecommunication and Networks, Mathematics is required at 12th Standard minimum of 65%
-All engineering courses require the 12th Standard minimum of 65% with 65% in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry
Postgraduate courses:
Holders of a 3 or 4-year Bachelor’s degree with 55% overall (50% from top universities) will be considered for direct admission to Postgraduate Diploma, MBAs or Masters Degree courses, however, some programs will require a higher grade.

TUITION FEES – PAYMENT METHOD
The University can accept fees in Pounds Sterling only and offers several payment methods.
REFUND / WITHDRAWAL POLICY
Tuition fee deposits are refunded in full in the following circumstances:
-Where a student visa application is rejected in writing by the Embassy/High Commission. The refund will not be given if the UK Government has cancelled a visa as a result of a breach of visa conditions or if the refusal is due to falsified documents.
-Where there are exceptional circumstances beyond your control, such as illness or bereavement of an immediate family member. An application for this type of refund must be supported by certified documents, such as a doctors certificate and/or relevant documents verifying the situation. Decisions regarding exceptional circumstance refunds are at the discretion of the Assistant Director of the International Office.
-In the event of a default by Birmingham City University due to the following circumstances:
- When the University does not offer a course on the advertised start date
- When the University terminates a course after the course start date and before the course completion date
- When the University does not provide a course as advertised, due to sanctions or circumstances beyond its
-Where you cancel the contract within the 14-day cancellation period referred to in the offer letter, providing the course has not already started. If the course has already started, you will be liable to pay a proportion of the fees to cover the period from the start of the course to the date of cancellation.
No refunds, other than for exceptional circumstances, will be made once you have arrived in the UK and after the commencement date of the course.
Tuition Fee Deposit Refund Policy
SCHOLARSHIP
Every year the university provides merit-based scholarships recognizing the talents of all international students, which will be discounted against the cost of their first year’s tuition fees.
All international students starting an undergraduate study in September 2022 will be eligible for a 2,000 scholarship, which will be deducted from their first year’s tuition fees. This scholarship is based on your academic qualifications.
All international students enrolling on a postgraduate course in September 2022 will be eligible for a partial scholarship of up to 2,000 discounted from your tuition fees. This is awarded based on your academic background, and your grade will need to be the equivalent to a UK degree:
2,000 if a 1st class degree holder
1,500 if a Second Class (Upper Division) or 2:1 degree holder 1,000 if a Second Class (Lower Division) or 2:2 degree holder 500 if a 3rd class degree holder
